Sid grew up in Minnesota and got a BS in Biology from the University of St. Thomas. In undergrad, she studied plant physiology focusing on desiccation tolerance in ferns and moss species. After graduation, she worked at Mayo Clinic for a few years before deciding to travel around Europe. Eventually, she made her way back to the Twin Cities and joined the Bierle Lab. In her free time, she loves being outdoors with her dog Sadie or reading at home with her cat Dexter.
